Train to be a Certified Money Management Volunteer

Do you have a passion for personal finance? Do you enjoy teaching others? Do all your friends and family members come to you for financial advice? Do you know a group of people who could benefit from financial literacy? If you answered yes to these questions, you may consider signing up for Money Management International’s (MMI) Certified Money Management Volunteer (CMMV) program. A CMMV is a volunteer who presents MMI’s financial education workshops to the community.

The need for a financial education is great. In a survey by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, one in five adults do not have a good idea of how much they spend on housing, food, and entertainment.

As a CMMV, you have the opportunity to expand financial literacy programs to your professional and social networks. From children to senior adults, everyone can benefit from financial education.

Education is the root of MMI’s mission of improving lives through financial education. The CMMV program allows MMI to reach a wide range of audiences and increase consumers’ financial knowledge. CMMVs present workshops in every sector of life including schools, churches, community organizations, and shelters.

The goals of the CMMV program are to:

  • Increase the awareness of MMI’s services in our communities;
  • Increase the number of classes offered and the number of people that receive consumer financial education;
  • Have additional personnel available to teach community education classes; and
  • Provide those dedicated to financial education the opportunity to teach others.

MMI currently has over 700 volunteers across the U.S. If you would like to present financial education in your area, visit www.CreditEducation.org for a list of upcoming training workshops. Below is a list of the areas you can serve. Some volunteer opportunities may vary by state.
