Veteran music manager Robby Hoffman has joined Primary Wave [147 articles]” href=”https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/companies/primary-wave/”>Primary Wave‘s talent management division.
Hoffman brings over 30 years of music industry and management experience to the company and will focus on expanding the company’s roster of management clients that includes Melissa Etheridge, Cypress Hill, CeeLo Green, Fantasia, Salt-N-Pepa, Aly & AJ, and others.
Hoffman currently manages Grammy-nominated rock band Extreme which has sold over 10 million records worldwide.
Primary Wave says that Hoffman and his clients will now have access to its talent management infrastructure.
That infrastructure includes an in-house press division, A&R/writer-producer relations team, branding division, digital strategy group, as well as our in-house film, television, video game, commercial advertising, and TV development team.
Hoffman started as a guitar player and graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Professional Music.
After graduating, his band In The Pink signed a record contract with Epic Records [236 articles]” href=”https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/companies/sony/sony-music-group/sony-music-entertainment/epic-records/”>Epic Records.
After the band broke up, Hoffman spent seven years on Wall Street working for an investment bank, managing money for high-net-worth individuals.
In 2005 Hoffman left Wall Street and founded One Music Management which was the music division of One Management in NYC.
As Founder and President, Hoffman was responsible for overseeing all artist management for the company. Current and former artists managed by Hoffman include Courtney Love, Ratt, Extreme, Nuno Bettencourt, Alexandra Savior and Spacehog/Arckid.
