The Chrysalis Effect

Successful startups reach a point when they must discard their old ways and emerge mature and ready to scale. To get through this transition successfully, leaders have to radically change their organization and the way they manage, while still growing. If they have anticipated the transition — for example, by creating new roles for the founders, attracting people who have experience with similar transitions, designing collaborative conversations, and borrowing established practices in their own deliberate way — they can restructure and soar.
